A retired accounting executive has announced his candidacy for Erie County Comptroller.

Philip Kadet has the support of the Erie County Republican Party and says he will challenge incumbent Mark Poloncarz. The East Aurora resident announced his campaign Wednesday morning.

Meanwhile, Poloncarz also announced his bid for re-election. He did so on the Internet. Poloncarz says he expects to be endorsed by the Erie County Democratic Committee.
