Buffalo, NY (WBEN) - Erie County Comptroller Mark Poloncarz is sounding the alarm after sales tax revenue took a dip in the second quarter of 2008. Poloncarz says the economic slowdown has taken a toll on Canadian shoppers as well, as they have not shopped here as often.

Poloncarz is warning lawmakers and officials to spend the remaining budget for this year wisely. He says if the trend continues, the budget could be in trouble.
