The Erie County comptroller Wednesday suggested the Legislature and county executive enlist the county in a drug-discount program that would let residents save money on medicines.
Poloncarz said Erie County could endorse a drug-card program at no cost to the government. The drug-card provider that Erie County selects could advertise itself using the government’s name.
In 2007, then-County Legislator Cynthia B. Locklear, D-West Seneca, proposed Erie County select a discount-card program, but Locklear later lost her bid for re-election and the idea withered.
