Poloncarz doing his job as independent watchdog

Recently there have been numerous articles about County Executive Chris Collins, with his likes and dislikes. His dislikes center on Comptroller Mark Poloncarz and several members of the Legislature. Why doesn’t he like Poloncarz? Let’s see, the comptroller is independent, has integrity and does not roll over and play dead when Collins snaps his fingers.
What should we do with him? Collins promises to find and personally finance an opponent for Poloncarz. The Legislature? Ignore those people. So what if it is a legally elected body, elected to provide leadership and balance?
Collins is a fine example of the CEOway of governing, much in the same style as the CEOs of AIG, Enron and Lehmann Bros. Well, I’ve had it with the “do it my way or the highway” style of governing. They and their methods have led to the financial mess in which this country finds itself. I prefer an independent watchdog to an arrogant bully. By the way, I paid for my refrigerator. Why can’t Collins?
