The final installment of a financial pledge made to the Buffalo Zoo in 2002 has been completed by Erie County.

Comptroller Mark Poloncarz Wednesday delivered a check for $4 million to the zoo as part of a capital campaign. The issue of providing the money was resolved a few weeks through an action by the Erie County Fiscal Stability Authority.

The Buffalo Zoo is using the funding for a rainforest exhibit. Previously, the county provided the zoo with $3.25 million for another exhibit featuring river sea lions and otters.
